The vegetarian lifestyle can go one of two ways: not enough protein or too much in the way of carbs, breads, and sugars leading you to look like an oompa loompa. #bloatcity
I found that when I first dabbled with vegetarianism last summer, I was constantly hankering for sweets. It wasn’t just my usual piece of dark chocolate either. I’m talking like serious amounts of breads, pastas, and nut butters.
Obviously that all didn’t bode too well on my small frame as I ended up gaining about 5 lbs.
I realized the reason why I was sweet tooth craving was due to the fact that I didn’t have enough fiber/protein in my diet.
Yes, plants have protein. Yes, they have fiber. The problem was I wasn’t consuming enough of them which left my body still in a state of starvation.
I now have managed to balance out this issue, by recently adding in juices and GNC’s Lean Shake into my diet.
I won a package of the orange cream flavor from a Fitfluential chat a few weeks ago and ever since I received it in the mail, I have been using it as my breakfast or lunch.
The thing that struck me about the shake is that it has ZERO whey/chalky after taste. It literally tastes like you’re drinking a Johnny Rockets milkshake.
At 9 grams of fiber and 25 grams of protein per serving, you won’t be missing out on your daily intake of these vital fat burners!
I made a blueberry banana shake and also some orange cream almond balls (unpictured).
The BEST/WORST part (depending on how you look at it): I am having NO chocolate cravings. (I know, I know, not upholding the blog name very well.)
I’ll probably continue using the Lean Shake every so often as a part of my NPC competition prep. (which yes, I know, I must go into further detail with you all when I know exact dates and such)
