#MotivationalMondays- HIIT The Wall

House walls, The Berlin Wall, and “hitting the wall.” What do all of these walls have in common?

They are able to be broken down.

When life hands you a wall, you don’t stare at it trying to channel your inner superhero eye laser powers to will it down. You get a freaking axe, chainsaw, or the incredible hulk to punch a hole through it and escape.

I’ve been experiencing hitting walls in my life since I can remember what the word “wall” meant. Unfortunately, I used to take the “do nothing and stare at it” approach, which lead to a lot of unhappiness and failure.

I didn’t choose to cut through the wall albeit mentally or physically. (probably a little bit of Teresa Giudice in me)

Recently, these walls are tumblin’ down… (Thanks- Beyonce πŸ˜‰ )

I have been adhering to most of my goals for this month and the rest of the year. I’m actually DOING instead of SAYING. Taking risks instead of creating anxiety out of taking risks. Most importantly, ripping my workout walls to complete shreds. (This is a GOOD thing.)

Speaking of ripping walls…this workout is brought to you by my wall…which was recently painted within the last year and I most certainly will get in trouble for the footprints now covering it. (Insert five year old smiley here)

The gist of this workout incorporates the popular HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) workout structure and all you need is a WALL. I find it to be more effective than performing a solo running or resistance training workout. This combines both cardio and resistance training moves to provide an increase in heart rate and an increased burn in calories.

…Now that’s WALL power πŸ˜‰

What are your workouts looking like for the week? Broke any walls down lately?

Peace, love, and wall breakers!

  4. Looks like a great workout! What are Wall Abductors…?

    • choc3178 says:

I just use the wall for assistance and swing the leg out instead of across like you would for adductors. I suppose you could also set up into a wall bridge and do both adductors and abductors if your wished as well. Probably adds a great extra resistance too!
