-Things To Try Thursdays- Aveda Damage Remedy

Do you wake up on a daily basis (like moi), with a mane that needs to be tamed? Medusa really has nothing on my hair in the morning. It seems like no matter how daintily and suffocating I make the hair scrunchie stay in the night before, the morning after the tresses envelope me like quicksand. Every day was a bad hair day, which is why I used to wear my near butt length hair in a messy bun looking like a Merry Maid employee. Times have changed and so have the products. Aveda, one of my favorite hair care brands, created Aveda, “Damage Remedy”. It’s a line formulated with quinoa protein dedicated to reversing dryness, hot iron, and dye damage. The product I use from the line is the deep restucturing conditioning formula. It’s smoothed into the dry, fried out ends of your hair and left on for about 30 minutes, then rinsed off.

If you also have hair like me, then you know it’s very thick/wavy and needs all the repair and support it can get. Instead of adhering to the bottle’s instructions, I began to use it as a mousse/gel and left it in all day long.

Guess what? No more medusa in the morning + soft, curly ends! Rapunzel’s dream! I don’t use the product every single day, but I recommend trying it once a week and then upping the frequency if need be. My hair looks flawless/curly/non-frizzy and I can’t believe how many compliments I receive when wearing it down. This is literally the only hair product I use. It’ll cost you about $23-28 per bottle but it definitely lasts. You only need a nickel-quarter sized amount. (I bought mine 2-3 years ago and its just dwindling now.)

Leave the snakey hair to Medusa and embrace your enhanced natural locks! Too strapped for cash to purchase? Santa can help you out with that…a great stocking stuffer for this holiday season!

It’s not even winter yet and my hair is feeling and looking quite dreadful. I’m going to give this a try! If Aveda products are good enough for the face they will be good enough for the hair.
