#WIAW- Making Bedroom Eyes With Cilantro

You know by now that when I find something I love, I coddle it so closely it can’t breathe for a while and then abruptly abandon/hate it. This only really relates to the foodie part of me. (literal food whore) With anything else, I’m usually super carefree. But, anyway…Hooray for stage five food clingers!

A few weeks ago I visited my local farmer’s market and stumbled upon several leafy greens. It was veggie heaven! From that point on, I don’t remember what happened, but I’m assuming the veggies had released some kind of roofie and I ended up with 7 bags of glorious greens.

Inside was:
-boston lettuce

When I finally awoke to reality, my pocketbook really wasn’t all that much affected. I only spent $18.00, and was surprisingly spry for experiencing such a lapse in veggie judgement.

I’m a lover of most veggies, but I must say, this time cilantro happened to take my breath away. One taste and I was sold. (Food is so my drug of choice.)

I was like a mad scientist in my kitchen for the next couple of days. EVERY SINGLE MEAL included cilantro. I even sprinkled it on top of my ice cream the other night. It was sweet and spicy in my mouth. The perfect way to reignite that food love spark again.

Without further adieu, I present to you our (Cilantro + Christy’s) engrossing love affair: (Our 3 best times together)

At first, ‘tro was a little shy…

*Cheddar omelette with cilantro and nitrite-free bacon on 100 cal. portuguese roll

But slowly, he began to come out of his shell…

*Brown rice pasta with carrots, tomato, cheddar, EVOO, & vinegar

And now, I have to deal with coming home to this menage a trois kind of thing…

*Boston lettuce with cut up chicken patty and Snyder’s Honey Mustard & Onion pretzel bites

Full display. No shame here. I’m sure this is just the beginning of ‘tro and I’s demise.

As for the fitness part of this month’s challenge, I’m pretty sure the pictures say it all. Lots of mouth and jaw action than anything else. (But maybe- there was some Zumba, body pump, and pilates thrown in too! πŸ˜‰
