Peanut Butter & Chocolate Puffin Smoothie

I have been beyond slacking posting recipes on the blog lately. Life gets in the way of what I really desire to do all the time, so I’m planning this post out 2 days in advance to ensure it actually gets completed!

A few days ago, I decided to experiement in the kitchen once again. I have some issues with belly bloat lately and usually smoothies always help me out. I did about two and a half miles on the treadmill plus kayaking, so my body was beaten and depleted of nutrients.

Here’s where the blender comes in handy!

Into the mix went:

-1 cup of lowfat milk
-1 scoop Sun Warrior chocolate protein powder
-handful of Puffins- (PB/Chocolate flavor)
-few almonds and walnuts
-half a banana
-pinch of flax seed

This was the perfect night time snack/post workout. I always feel like I’m doing my body good after I have a smoothie. The possibilities for ingredients are endless!

I highly recommend this for all you sweet tooth gals and guys out there! It will fill you up without filling you out!

What are your favorite post workout foods or recipes?

Peace, love, and protein!

  1. Aww man, I almost picked up a box of those PB/Chocolate puffins today while at the store! 🙁
Need to try this when I get a box!
I’m normally pretty basic…milk, vanilla greek yogurt, then a bunch of frozen fruits (banana and a mix of either blueberries, strawberries, mango, pineapples, or raspberries). Sometimes I add spinach when I have it. I need to branch out more! LOL!

Just a brief warning about the Puffins…to me they tasted kinda blah and bland alone, but when I through them in with the other ingredients they were pretty good! Mmmm…I need to get some pineapple and mango, they’ve been out of both at the stores lately.
