Some people’s Hakuna Matata comes in the form of vacations, shopping sprees, or paydays.
Mine just happens to come in a 1.76 ounce bar of chocolate. Not a Reese’s, Hershey’s, or Mounds tastes even close to what these blissful bars are comprised of.The bar hails from the company, NuGo, out in Pennsylvania. I discovered them my sophomore of college, right after I swore off the scale. I began picking one or two of these up a day, being that they were one of the more healthy promotions going in the student center.
It soon became routine to grab an iced mocha and the NuGo Dark Chocolate Almond bar before morning and night classes. It was the perfect relationship, wedding my love for chocolate and also reforming my eating habits at the same time. I believe it was also at this point in time when I began reading nutritional labels. In comparing NuGo with the standard chocolate bar, I realized what I was consuming previously wasn’t so innocent. My “just one or two per day Reese’s won’t hurt” philosophy quickly contradicted itself and manifested into a harsh reality when I stepped on the scale.
We started out as friends, but quickly became lovers
A naturally protein-packed bar with a physique like no other
You leave me wanting more after about a quarter to four
I indulge willingly because you’re never a bore
A moment on the hips is a lifetime on the hips
Doesn’t apply here because you are perfect bliss!
Peace, love, and NuGo!
