Milk and coffee, so happy together.
Well, not if you are lactose sensitive. In general, coffee is sweetened with milk, sugar, or artificially made creamers. Good for tastebuds, bad for the bod.
I only had a slight lactose allergy when I was in my tweens, but that quickly went away (or I just ignored it) when I went to college and began having ice cream for dinner.
I try to make it my mission to avoid those gross fillers and chemicals in any foods, beverages, and creamers at all costs. (I am the one scouring the labels and actually reading the FINE PRINT with the magnifying glass iPhone apps awkwardly in the middle of the aisles.)
Most creamers as we know contain artificial sweeteners, dyes, and preservatives. This includes even my used to be favorites- Coffee Mate Cinnamon Sugar Cookie & International Delight- Almond Joy.
Recently, I’ve been trying to kick the creamer altogether, but it’s been a swirling mess of craving.
On a trip to my local Stop & Shop a few months ago, I happened to stumble upon SO Delicious Coconut Milk French Vanilla creamer.
So the packaging roped me in first and foremost. Then came judgement time, when I turned over and read the ingredients on the back panel. My eyes quickly perused over and by the time I got to the end, no serious red flags had jumped out at me.
Best of all, this creamer is DAIRY FREE for all of you who have issues with regular milk. It’s also GLUTEN FREE. It does contain some artificial preservative, but in general, I’m granting it a stamp of approval.
Tastes absolutely delish paired with a subtle nutty coffee. (hazelnut, southern pecan, mocha nut fudge, butter pecan, french toast) Can you tell I’m a little keurig krazed?
I say go out and give it a try for all you doubters. The taste is actually BETTER than most other creamers I’ve had in the past. Be sure to check out the So Delicious website, as they frequently make coupons readily available for us frugal consumers!
